The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for taking history and physical for both new and established patients of all ages, order appropriate testing, order appropriate treatment, interpret labs and other diagnostic results, document in electronic medical chart, prescribe DME, prescribe medications and refills, decide on a plan of treatment with physician, and other duties as required.

Must be able to multi-task, take charge and provide direction to other clinical staff. Employment of this position is through MLK Jr. Health Associates. This is NOT a hospital employment.

Qualifications

A.   Education

• Master’s Degree in Nursing required
• Must have current certification via American Nurses Credentialing Center (AANP) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (ANCC).
• Current and without restriction RN and NP license required

B.  Qualifications/Experience

• Minimum of one year experience as an NP in clinical practice
• Experience as RN or NP in primary or urgent care setting
• Prescribing authority/DEA licensure in good standing 
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) for Health Care Providers from the American Heart Association
