Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is currently seeking a highly qualified nurse leader to fill the full‐time permanent position of Nurse Manager to oversee the Perinatal Services including Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum Units. 

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • In collaboration with the Clinical Nursing Director of Perinatal Service, the Nurse Manager will develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care services in units under his/her responsibility. Assist in planning for staff needs and ensure equitable staffing of the areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with licensure, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of operational policies and procedures for nursing services. Establish, implement, and evaluate quality of care for assigned areas.
  • Collaborate with multiple disciplines in intra- and inter-departmental planning, problem-solving, and decision-making. Support and lead the unit using a collaborative and shared-governance approach. ·      
  • Proactively monitor and manage patient care activities looking for opportunities for improvement of situations and processes including nurse-sensitive indicators.·      
  • Collects, analyzes, and translates quality data to change patient outcomes, promote nurses, and contribute to nursing science; works together with nursing leadership to ensure evidence-based policies and procedures for continued quality improvement.
Qualifications

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Clinical and leadership experience in nursing operations within the last 3 years, minimum of 2 years L+D experience 
  • Understanding and knowledge of Title 22, CMS, Joint Commission, ACOG standards & other local, State, and federal Regulatory requirements, applicable rules, and statutes
  • Labor and Delivery, Post-Partum Nursing operations experience 
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written
