RN ICU Part-Time Nights
Reporting to the Administrative Director, this position is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
- Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skills and/or activities that place patients at risk as well as communicates effectively in a clear, concise, understandable manner. Applicable for the populations checked: Adult (x) Geriatric (x).
- Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, and adjusts nursing care interventions appropriately to ensure optimal patient care.Knowledgably administers medications per protocol/policy, observing and documenting patient’s response.
- Assess patients’ conditions and develops and updates individual plans of care
- Monitors physiological, cognitive status of patients and timely report changes to physicians and/or other appropriate personnel, includes follow-up on lab/test results.
- Documents in a clear, complete, legible, organized and timely manner, demonstrating critical thinking skill in the nursing process.
- Maintains current competencies and skill levels required for work/specialty area.
- Participates in quality and performance improvement programs
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
- Graduate of RN Training Program
- Completion of a basic EKG course
Preferred Education:
- Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Minimum one (1) year recent experience in an acute care setting preferred.
- One (1) year experience in ICU setting preferred.Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a union environment.
Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:
- Current California RN license
- AHA BLSAHA ACLS
- NIHSS Stroke Certification
- LA County Fire Card
- EKG Dysthymia Interpretation Course
