Nurse Manager – Juvenile Court Health Services

Juvenile Court Health Services (JCHS) is seeking a highly qualified Nurse Manager to provide operational oversite to Patient Care and Nursing Services at Juvenile Court Health Services. The Nurse Manager will lead a group of Care Managers responsible for linking detained youth to a primary medical home, and accompanying health care, dental, and social work services at the time of discharge. This position reports to the Assistant Nursing Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Manages operations of the clinic at a Juvenile Hall including planning for staffing needs 
  • Collaborates with Probation Department team and other partner agencies• Monitor and ensure compliance with licensure, accreditation and regulatory standards
  • Coordinator for regulatory audits
  • Responsible for corrective action plans, review, and submission of Safety Intelligence entries
  • Collaborates with leadership team to develop and implement evidence-based performance metrics
  • Acts as a patient care advocate, responding to quality-of-care concerns and patient complaints within the clinics
  • Oversees Care Managers who manage, identify, and coordinate referrals with identified sources for discharge, and who create a discharge plan for high-risk detained youth.
Qualifications

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Understanding and knowledge of Title 22, CMS, Joint Commission & other local, State, Federal Regulatory requirements, applicable rules, and statutes
  • Ability to manage multiple direct reports & assignments
  • Strong organizational, team building, critical-thinking, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Assertive, self-directed, and able to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Well-developed writing skills, with attention to detail

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Clinical and leadership experience in nursing operations within the last 3 years
  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a closely related health field - AND - two years of experience at the level of an LA County Nursing Supervisor classification within the last five years.
  • A master’s degree in nursing administration may be substituted for one year of supervisory experience.
  • Certification with American Heart Association.
