Per Diem Registered Nurse III – Emergency – Night Shift
Under direction of a Clinical Coordinator, to provide direct or indirect nursing care to hospital patients in a general or specialized nursing unit; and to perform related work as required.
The Per Diem Nurse is distinguished from the Registered Nurse classification in that Per Diem Nurses are scheduled to work on an as-needed basis (intermittent) to supplement staffing needs. This position is for night shift only. There is one (1) vacancy at Ventura County Medical Center and one(1) vacancy at Santa Paula Hospital.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE
Per Diem Registered Nurse III - requires at least five (5) years of professional nursing experience. These employees may be appointed to work on specialized short term projects such as hospital accreditation or on other projects that require specialized administrative duties and responsibilities.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Graduation from an accredited School of NursingMust be willing and able to work night shifts
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of California, or Registered Nurse licensure in another state with California licensure pending.
- Successful completion of the Health Care Agency Pharmacology examination within three (3) months of employment is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certificate PRIOR to the first day of employment.
- Must possess a current, valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Must possess a current, valid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Must possess a current, valid Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certification within six (6) months of hire. (VCMC only)
DESIRED
Ventura County MICN certification preferred. (VCMC only)
